Why I Coach Women

Why I Coach Women

I didn't become a coach because I had life all figured out. I became a coach because I spent years searching for the coach I needed.

For most of my life, I looked like I had everything under control.
I was strong.
I was capable.
I had a career.
I was raising three children.
I was the person everyone else could depend on.

But underneath it all...
I had lost my voice.
I knew how to stand up for everyone else.
I didn't know how to stand up for myself.
Saying "yes" was automatic.
Saying "no" felt almost impossible.
Keeping the peace mattered more than speaking my truth.

Looking back now, I can see I wasn't really living. I was surviving. I just didn't know it yet.

The Christmas That Changed Everything

The moment that changed my life didn't happen in a therapist's office. It happened on Christmas Day. I was a single mom with three young children. Like so many women, I wanted everything to be perfect. The presents were wrapped. Dinner was organized.

The children were ready to spend time with their dad.

After they left, I had a shower, put on my new Christmas pajamas, put the turkey in the oven... and I sat down. For four hours. I couldn't move. My mind never stopped. It kept telling me everything I should be doing.

Clean up.
Get ready.
Be productive.
Do more.

But my body simply wouldn't respond.

I wasn't lazy.
I wasn't unmotivated.
I was exhausted.

When my children came home, something remarkable happened. I stood up. I became Supermom again. Dinner was served. Everything was taken care of. No one would have known what had happened.

But I knew. That was the moment I quietly asked myself, "Something isn't right."

I didn't know what needed to change yet. I just knew I couldn't keep living this way..

I Didn't Know What I Didn't Know

I went looking for answers, I saw a psychologist and a homeopath. Then I went searching for answers:
I read books
I focussed positive thinking
I learned about manifestation
I learned to journal
I learned to meditate
I discovered many spiritual teachers who all gave me something valuable

But I was still putting Band-Aids on wounds that needed stitches.

I was becoming more aware.

I was making changes.

But I wasn't healing.

Because I didn't yet understand what I was carrying.

The Journey That Changed Everything

Eventually, I found Empowerment Coaching - it changed my life. I became a Personal Empowerment Coach, then a Master Empowerment Coach. For the first time, I began believing I could create a different life.

But something still kept happening.

Three steps forward.

Two steps back.

I would make progress...

...and then find myself asking,

"Why am I here again?"

That question stayed with me for years.

Until I finally understood.

I had changed my thinking. I hadn't healed the parts of me that still believed I had to earn love, stay quiet, keep everyone happy and carry everything alone.

That realization changed everything.

When I discovered Gentle Trauma Release and began healing my past instead of fighting against it...

That healing finally reached the places words never could.

My Philosophy

Today, everything I do is built around four simple ideas.

Awareness

Transformation begins the moment you notice. With awareness you begin to notice...
"I'm not happy."
"I don't like how I speak to myself."
"I don't like how people treat me."
"I don't like constantly putting myself last."

Awareness is the first step because we can't change what we don't yet see.

Change

Once you're aware... You begin choosing differently. Not all at once. One gentle choice at a time.
One boundary.
One conversation.
One pause.
One act of choosing yourself.

Real change isn't dramatic.
It's gentle.
It's consistent.
It's sustainable.

Just like training for a marathon, you don't wake up one morning and run 42 kilometres. You build the strength one step at a time.

Our lives change the same way.

Healing

As those gentle changes begin, you often discover you've been carrying things that no longer belong to you.
Old hurts.
Old beliefs.
Old fears.
Old expectations.

This is where healing begins. I often share the story of the Golden Buddha. The statue was always made of gold. To protect it, layer upon layer of plaster was placed over it until people forgot what was underneath.

I believe many women have done the same thing. Life teaches us to protect ourselves.
To stay quiet.
To keep everyone else happy.
To carry more than we should.

Those layers once helped us survive. But eventually... they begin hiding who we truly are.

Healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about gently peeling back those layers.

Becoming

This is my favourite part, not because it's the end because it's the beginning.
You begin speaking your truth.
You trust yourself.
You know what you want.
You stop living according to everyone else's expectations.
You begin creating a life that feels like yours.

People often say they've lost themselves. I understand exactly what they mean. I felt that way too.

What I've discovered is that beneath all the protection... there is still an extraordinary woman waiting to be seen.

A real woman.
A woman with a voice.
A woman with joy.
A woman with dreams.
A woman who no longer apologizes for taking up space.

You become the woman you were before life convinced you to be someone else.

Becoming isn't about changing who you are.

It's about peeling away everything that convinced you that you had to be someone else.
The people-pleasing.
The perfectionism.
The fear of disappointing others.
The silence.
The constant pressure to earn your worth.

Little by little, those layers begin to fall away. Until one day... you hear your own voice again.

You know what you want.

You trust yourself.

You stop asking everyone else who you should be.

Because you finally know.

Why I Do This Work

Could you figure this out on your own? Maybe. I did. Eventually.

But my journey was long, it was winding, filled with detours, wrong turns and years of trying to solve the wrong problem.

I don't regret my journey. It made me the coach I am today. But if I can make someone else's path a little gentler... a little shorter... a little less lonely...

Then every step was worth it because It's about helping you see what has always been there beneath the layers.

One gentle step at a time.

Awareness.

Change.

Healing.

Becoming.

And becoming isn't about creating someone new. It's about uncovering the remarkable woman who has been waiting beneath the plaster all along.

I believe every woman deserves to know what it feels like to wake up excited about her life.
To trust herself.
To speak her truth.
To laugh without guilt.
To choose herself without apology.
To create a life that feels peaceful, meaningful, and completely her own.

That's why I do this work. Not to change who you are. To help you uncover who you've been all along.

One gentle step at a time.
