what about me

What about me?

🌿 What About Me?

There comes a point in a woman’s life where something shifts.

And it’s unmistakable.

A question begins to rise: What about me?

For most of our lives, we’ve been taught to care, to give, to support, to nurture.

We’ve been the ones who show up.
The ones who hold things together.
The ones who make sure everything — and everyone — is taken care of.

And we do it well.

We adjust.
We compromise.
We put ourselves second… then third… then somewhere so far down the list we barely make it.

We’ve been conditioned to believe this is what we’re supposed to do and that becomes automatic.

We say yes when we mean no.
We push through exhaustion.
We “just do it”… until we can’t anymore.

And here’s the part I want you to really hear: Your nervous system keeps track of all of it.

Every time you override yourself.
Every time you push past your limits.
Every time you ignore what your body is asking for.

It adds up.

So by the time many women reach their 40s or 50s…it’s not just tired. It’s a level of exhaustion that sleep doesn’t fix.

And that’s when the question comes: What about me?

You’ve done everything you were 'supposed' to do.

You shown up.
You gave.
You carried.

And yet… something still feels missing.

I often think about George Bailey in It’s a Wonderful Life - where I got the name for my coaching business. He had dreams, a vision for his life but over time, he set them aside.

For responsibility.
For expectation.
For what needed to be done.

And while his story is different… that feeling isn’t. That quiet drifting away from yourself. This is how you lost yourself and this is where of that awareness begins.

Because once you see it… you can’t unsee it.

You start to recognize where you’ve been settling. Where you’ve been overriding yourself. Where your life has slowly become about everything… except you.

And that’s the moment everything begins to shift because you finally see what’s been happening.

From here… there is a way forward. A gentle way. A way that doesn’t ask you to push harder… but supports your body in feeling safe again.

This isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering who you are…

before you started putting yourself last.

And that question… What about me?

It matters.

You matter.
