No Wonder You're Exhausted Part 2
No Wonder You’re Exhausted
No wonder you’re exhausted.
You’ve spent years carrying things that were never meant to be yours alone.
Somewhere along the way, you became the woman everyone depended on.
You remembered.
You organised.
You solved problems.
You stepped in.
You held everyone together.
Because you could, you stopped asking whether you should.
Then one day, you looked around and thought, “Why do I feel like I’m disappearing?”
I know that feeling. I lived it.
For years, I thought I just needed better time management. If I could become more organised, work a little harder, get up a little earlier… I’d finally catch up.
What I discovered changed everything.
I wasn’t drowning because I couldn’t manage my time.
I was drowning because I was carrying too much.
Most of it wasn’t even mine.
The Firefighting Trap
It reminds me of Stephen Covey’s story about spending your days putting out fires. You rush from one crisis to the next, constantly reacting, constantly fixing.
Until one day, you realise… none of those fires actually belong to you.
That image is powerful, isn’t it? Because every woman I know can see herself in it.
Why It Feels So Wrong to Choose Yourself
So why does it feel so uncomfortable to finally say no?
Somewhere along the way, you learned that everyone else came first.
No one sat you down and told you that, it was modelled, expected, praised and repeated — until it became normal.
So when you finally whisper, “I can’t,” your nervous system doesn’t hear, “I’m taking care of myself.”
It hears, “I’m letting someone down.”
No wonder it feels wrong. You’re learning a new language — the language of self-trust and self-compassion.
One Gentle Invitation
So today, I want to offer you one simple invitation.
Before you automatically say yes… pause.
Take one breath.
Ask yourself one question:
Do I actually have the capacity for this today?
Not, “Can I squeeze it in?”
Not, “Will they be upset?”
Simply, “Do I honestly have the energy for this?”
If the answer is no, practise saying no.
Not because you’re selfish, because you’re human.
Every time you say yes to yourself, you’re building your foundation.
Safety. Foundation. Love.
Everything comes back to this.
Every no that protects your peace creates safety.
Every boundary you set strengthens your foundation.
Every act of kindness toward yourself is an act of love.
This isn’t just a philosophy — it’s a way of living. It’s the thread that runs through everything I teach.
You Don’t Have to Carry This Alone
You asked, “What’s the first step?”
It’s not journaling or tapping or even learning about the nervous system — those are beautiful tools, but they come later.
The first solution is much simpler.
It’s this: You don’t have to carry this alone anymore.
Before you learn the tools, before you release the old pain, you need one thing — someone who looks at you and says,
“You’ve been carrying a lot.”
That’s not fixing. That’s not rescuing. That’s witnessing.
If you've been carrying more than anyone realizes...
If you're exhausted from holding everything together...
If you've forgotten what it feels like to put yourself first...
I see you.
No wonder you feel this way.
You don't have to carry it alone anymore.
There is hope.
❤️ Kim
